Dining in Naples Florida

There are many great restaurants and places to have an enjoyable meal in Naples Florida. The entire list is extensive and offers every variety possible. The restaurant section in the yellow pages is 55 pages long! The Olde Naples area has the highest concentration of restaurants from moderately priced to very exclusive.

During the season from January through April, it is best to have an advance reservation or you will have trouble with your selection.

Olde Naples Area

Fifth Avenue South (See map of area) is the "main" street of downtown Naples. In addition to the many excellent restaurants and pubs offering fine dining, Fifth Avenue has many shops, live entertainment and hotels. Fifth Avenue comes alive at night and many restaurants offer outdoor seating with great people watching opportunities. Grab a Starbucks coffee on Fifth Avenue and stroll the area to and see what suits your taste. Menus are normally posted. You can't go wrong with your pick.

The Third Street South Area is a smaller version of Fifth Avenue South. It has fine shops, art galleries, boutiques, restaurants, pubs and a two block walk to the Naples pier. Third Street is center of the original "Old Naples" area. Get to the area by heading west on Fifth Avenue South, then left at Third Street for a mile.

You have Tommy Bahama Tropical Cafe, Campiello Ristorante, Handsome Harrys, Naples Pub and the Blue Sushi just to name a few.

Venetian Village

The Village on Venetian Bay is a modern retail community on Naples Venetian Bay with many unique shops and restaurants. It's located on a barrier island surrounded by many fine high rise residences. The Village has several restaurants and a pub offering bayside views. It's located at the west end of Park Shore Drive. From the intersection of Pine Ridge and Tamiami, head south a little over one mile then turn west on Park Shore Drive. The Park Shore turn off from Tamiami can be easily missed because of traffic and a number of retail centers in the area.

Water Front Dining

Since the Naples area beaches are mostly residential, parks or preserves, there are few opportunities to dine and see the Ocean. The opportunities are limited to the handful hotels on the beach. These would include the Naples Beach Hotel, the Ritz Carlton, the Turtle Club and the LaPlaya hotel. The later being on Vanderbilt beach.

Dining with bay views are also very limited. The Venetian Village, discussed above has several options. On the Naples bay you have the Dock, Kelly's Fish House and the Tin City area.
