Naples Average Temperatures

I view October through April as the best weather months in the Naples area, when daytime temperatures are in the seventies and eighties, with little rain. The months of June to September are consistently warm, humid and showery, but unlike many northern cities, it's rare for temperatures to get much above the 91-93 degree range. The all-time highest recorded temperature for Naples is 98 degrees.

In the summer, beach go-ers have warm gulf waters (average gulf water temperatures here). Summer golfers get their pick of courses and morning tee times and can easily have an enjoyable round in before afternoon storms. Afternoon storms usually don't last long, but they can pack a lot of rain and lighting into a very short period.

Naples Average Rainfall

The rain in the Naples area falls off dramatically in October. The first or second cold front (cold is a relative term here) of the season pushes the moisture away from the area. The winter months average 2 or 3 inches of rain a month, but that can happen in just one or two storms.

  • Red Tide. A Red Tide is a naturally occurring phenomenon along the gulf coast in Florida and results from the bloom of microscopic plant like cells called phytoplankton. These phytoplankton produce neurotoxins that can kill fish and cause respiratory and eye irritation along the shore. Periodic blooms can occasionally move close to beaches, but these are localized incidents and don't last long. For up to date information, call the Collier County Red Tide hotline at: 239.732.2591.
