Art Nouveau in Naples

Costantinopoli 104 occupies the 19th century home of the Marquis Spinelli, whose ancestral crests can be seen on the building's neoclassical facade and on the archway leading to the garden.

Painstakingly restored and transformed into a beautiful boutique hotel, the building still conserves all it's original art nouveau features, including stunning, floor-to-ceiling, stained glass windows.

Many of the furnishings and works of art in Costantinopoli 104's rooms are still exactly where Marquis Spinelli left them - over a century ago!

This hotel offers peace and kindness. You appreciate this tranquility after the incessant tumult of the city. The rooms are mainly designed on two levels. They are very clean but a little dark. You will have your breakfast or your aperitif on the shaded terrace, depending on the season. The choice at the breakfast buffet is quite wide. Freshly squeezed orange juice will be served to you upon request. Value for money a bit high nonetheless. Be careful, to our knowledge, only two rooms have a private terrace (204 and 205 which are also connecting).

It is a small hotel with 20 rooms with super service. Very nicely decorated in classic style with modern art. Rooms on the top floor have a shared roof terrace. We had a family room - room 211 or 212 - on two floors and a large bathroom. It seemed a little dark, but was perfect for us. This room is located on the road behind where there may be noise from nightlife, but we could fine sleep from it. There is air conditioning on both floors. The hotel is located in the second backyard, so the rooms facing the courtyard are quiet. The courtyard and the pool is a lovely breeze in the middle of the city.

Wonderful to visit this hotel again

It was wonderful to come back to this hotel. It's small, set back from the street. From the street one looks over another small street. When one of us was unwell one evening, the other just pulled a chair out onto the little balcony and watched Neapolitan life play out below. Breakfast is very good. They justifiably take special pride in their freshly made cakes: "Try this, it's ...", then "Try this, it's ...." Kettle for making our morning fix of coffee before breakfast. The pool is small but refreshing, and a nice place to lounge after the business of local streets. Staff also recommended a fabulous small seafood restaurant in the street behind where we dined. (Last time we stayed here, we ate at Carmen's [?] around the corner but it was closed this night.) If you don't like stairs, then the suite that we've had would not suit you. Bedroom and bathroom on a mezzanine upstairs, lounge downstairs and the steps have some angles. Doors and balcony open off the downstairs room.

Wonderful boutique hotel, warm welcoming staff, great continental breakfast. Hotel is tucked away in a courtyard, a little oasis in the chaos of Napoli... Will stay there again if we ever go back to Naples!

Costantinopoli 104 is located right in the very heart of the historic center of Naples and just a short walk away from the National Archaeological Museum and the Church of San Gregorio Armeno.

Piazza Plebescito, the Maschio Angioino, the Monastery of Santa Chiara, the Cathedral, Castel dell'Ovo and the sea front promenade of via Caracciolo all lie within easy reach of the hotel.

Whilst you're in Naples, make sure you visit the nearby archaeological sites of Pompei and Herculaneum and Mount Vesuvius.
