A Belle Epoque atmosphere overlooking the sea. Overlooking the sea, tucked behind the little harbor of Santa Lucia and Castel dell'Ovo, the Grand Hotel Santa Lucia has been a major player in Neapolitan hospitality since the turn of the century.

Favored by musicians and actors, the hotel emanates luxury that is never ostentatious. Eighteenth century paintings, Murano chandeliers, fine stuccos and wall hangings decorate the public rooms and are harbingers of the discreet elegance that characterises the decor of the bedrooms and the suites.

A number of fully equipped multifunctional rooms enjoying views over the legendary Gulf of Naples are available to host events of every kind.

Would not Recommend here. Better to booking at the Vesuvio

I wouldn’t recommend staying at Grand Hotel Santa Lucia. The property feels poorly maintained, and the lack of proper upkeep really shows throughout the hotel. The air conditioning was not working during my stay, which made the room quite uncomfortable. For the price, the facilities are very mediocre and don’t justify the cost at all. What was most disappointing, though, was the staff’s attitude—they were not helpful or accommodating when I reached out to retrieve items I had left behind in the room. Overall, not worth the stay. You’re much better off booking somewhere else, such as Hotel Vesuvio, which offers a far better experience for a similar price point.

Granddaughter Sanna Lucia has been recently renovated and he’s on the art of Naples. Enjoy an excellent location by the seaside 10 minutes walk from the famous Villa with well trained and pleasant personal. Ideal place for a romantic breakaway or a family holiday.

Nice room but not a good value

Excellent location and a nice room, but the service, amenities, and overall value does not match the pricing. First, the positives. The location on the waterfront is excellent. Note that the roadway in front of the hotel is currently under construction, with extremely limited vehicle traffic (one lane, one direction). This means no traffic noise, which is really nice. There was no active construction while we were there, but it could be a problem once it starts up again. Access by vehicle can be a challenge due to the closed roadway (took us 2 hours to travel the last 1.5 miles by car the day of our arrival - absolute gridlock). After switching rooms due to a problem with our first room (see below), we wound up in a junior suite on the corner. The room was spacious and attractive, with a lovely view of the Gulf of Naples. There was a combined circular jacuzzi tub/shower, which was a bit awkward as a shower but nice for soaking. Bed was comfortable, with high quality linen sheets. Where this property falls down is providing service and value commensurate with the very high rates. There was no pre-arrival welcome email, nor any advance warning about the serious traffic impacts of the road closure. We were given one small bottle of free water for a two night stay. Tea and coffee (Nescafe instant) were not replenished. Front desk staff were competent, but there was no warmth or real welcome at all - the only exception being the porter, Mario, who was both charming and extraordinarily helpful. We also had an issue with the very strong chemical scent of the air freshener used by housekeeping. It was overpowering. It was so unpleasant, we had to move from our initial room; the second room was better, but the scent was ever-present in the hallway. We found it baffling the hotel would use such a strong and unpleasantly scented product. While this was not a bad stay by any means, I would have a hard time recommending this property in light of the very high pricing.

Friendly and friendly staff, clean rooms, stunning views. I stayed for one night only, but I must say I was really good!
